Male Juvenile Shot During Confrontation at Park in Simi Valley

SIMI VALLEY, Calif., July 1 (KNN) — A male juvenile was wounded in a shooting early Monday morning at Frontier Park in Simi Valley.

Simi Valley police officers responded to a call of a shooting victim at approximately 2:23 a.m. at Frontier Park located in the 2100 block of Elizondo Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a male juvenile who had been shot in the chest and trachea, according to the Simi Valley Police Department.

The juvenile was shot during a confrontation between two groups at the park, reported the SVPD. The male was transported to a local area trauma center where he underwent surgery.

Multiple subjects wearing dark colored hoodie sweatshirts were seen fleeing in the park right after the shooting, according to the SVPD.

Personnel from the Simi Valley Police Department’s Detective Bureau responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
