Male Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Pacoima Traffic Collision

PACOIMA, LOS ANGELES, June 24 (KNN) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle traveling on Foothill Boulevard in Pacoima early Monday morning.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel and police officers responded to a traffic collision around 2:15 a.m. involving a pedestrian in the 12800 block of Foothill Boulevard.

Upon arrival, firefighters and officers determined that the pedestrian was deceased at the scene.

The pedestrian – a 60-year-old male – was walking outside a crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Foothill Boulevard, according to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department. The driver of the vehicle stopped to render aid and remained at the scene.

LAPD officers had shut down a portion of Foothill Boulevard from Arroyo Street near a shopping center.

The cause of the collision is not known at this time and currently under investigation by LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division.
