Man Allegedly Points Gun at 2 People in Encampment

North Hollywood. Los Angeles, CA: Los Angeles Police Department North Hollywood units responded to a report of a man with a gun in a homeless encampment along the 170 freeway at Sherman Way at approximately 8:15 p.m. Friday, Mar. 4, in North Hollywood.

The suspect allegedly pointed a weapon at a female and another male in the encampment. LAPD K-9 units were called to the scene.

A perimeter was set up in the park near the area of Hart Street and Laurelgrove Avenue and the east freeway wall.

California Highway Patrol has the Northbound 170 Freeway at Sherman Way exit closed while officers conduct their search. Officers are currently reported to be in a standoff with the suspect.
