Man Discovered Shot Inside Vehicle in Los Angeles

VERMONT SQUARE, LOS ANGELES, Aug. 2 (KNN) — A man is in critical condition after being shot in the head inside his vehicle in the Vermont Square neighborhood of Los Angeles overnight.

The incident occurred at 12:15 a.m. Friday, in the 1000 block of West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Area officers responded to the location for an assault with a deadly weapon shooting.

Officers discovered one male victim, 50 years old, seated in his vehicle with a gunshot wound to his head, according to Officer Drake Madison, spokesperson for the LAPD.

The wounded man’s vehicle had collided into two parked vehicles at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Kansas Avenue.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local area hospital in critical condition, according to Madison.

There was no updated information from the LAPD regarding the victim’s condition as of late Friday afternoon.

Information at the scene indicated the suspects fled in a black Toyota Prius. It is not known at this time if the incident is gang related.
