Man Fatally Wounded in Parking Lot Shooting in Hawthorne

HAWTHORNE, Calif., Aug. 13 (KNN) — A fatally wounded shooting victim was located in a store parking lot in the city of Hawthorne late Monday evening.

Hawthorne police officers responded to a shooting victim around 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a liquor store at the northeast corner of Crenshaw and El Segundo boulevards.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a male down in the lot with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Bullet casings were observed scattered on the ground at the location marked by officers investigating the fatal incident.

The suspect fled the scene and multiple law enforcement agencies were searching a nearby area.

There are no further details at this time.
