WESTLAKE, LOS ANGELES, Apr. 6 (KNN) — A man was found dead on the tracks of the Westlake/MacArthur Park Metro subway station Friday night, according to authorities.
The incident was reported at 9:20 p.m. in the 600 block of South Alvarado Street – the location of the Metro Station – where arriving Los Angeles Fire Department personnel located a man who was fatally struck by a train.
The medical examiner responded to the scene to assist with recovery of the body.
The deceased person was identified as a 32-year-old male, according to the LAPD. His name has not yet been released by the Los Angeles County Coroner.
It is unknown at this time how the man ended up on the tracks, said Officer Miller with the LAPD’s Media Relations Division.
LAPD’s Central Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
