Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, CA: A man surrendered to police after an hours-long barricade in a home overnight following an alleged incident involving a neighbor on a Hollywood Hills street.
Los Angeles police officers from Hollywood Division responded to the 3200 block of Primera Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20, for an assault with a deadly weapon suspect. Reportedly, a male with a weapon was charging at a person and smashing vehicle windows at the location.
Officers arrived to find that the reported suspect had proceeded to barricade in a large home at the location prompting a response from LAPD’s Metropolitan Division.
After an hours-long standoff, LAPD Metro units deployed generous amounts of tear gas into the house.
The suspect then exited the house and surrendered to officers early Sunday morning without further incident.
A neighbor stated off-camera to Key News Network that the suspect named “William” threatened him with what he described as a sledgehammer.
The neighbor also pointed out dozens of online food order bags lining the stairs of the suspect’s residence that were never brought inside
A Key News Network video journalist at the scene observed shattered windows on at least two vehicles parked in the street.
