Man Injured in Newhall Shooting, Gunman Outstanding

NEWHALL, SANTA CLARITA, CA, Sept. 30 (KNN) — One man was shot and carried to a car in the Newhall neighborhood within the city of Santa Clarita shortly before 11:45 p.m. Friday.

The shooting was reported in the 22800 block of 15th Street near the intersection of 15th Street and Walnut Street outside an apartment complex.

Witnesses heard at least two shots but did not have a description of the shooter.

Deputies located a gray Toyota Camry sedan with a shattered window and a considerable amount of blood at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.

Investigators believe the vehicle was used to transport the gunshot victim to the emergency room.

The area surrounding 15th Street and Walnut Street remained shut down as deputies gathered evidence.
