PASADENA, CA, Oct. 24 (KNN) — The Pasadena Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man dead and a juvenile wounded near Robinson Recreational Park Monday evening.
Pasadena PD officers responded to the area of Fair Oaks Avenue and Hammond Street around 7:46 p.m. after several calls from residents regarding shots fired as well as a ShotSpotter detection alert, according to authorities.
Officers arrived at the location and found one adult male down in the parking lot of a multi-unit apartment complex on the 00 block of West Hammond Street. The unresponsive male had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital in grave condition by the Pasadena Fire Department, reported Pasadena PD in a press release. The victim was pronounced deceased a short time later by hospital personnel.
According to Pasadena PD, a second victim from the shooting arrived at the same hospital via private transportation as officers were establishing a crime scene.
The second victim is reported to be a juvenile male who had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to the press release.
Detectives from the Pasadena Police Department’s Robbery/Homicide Unit are currently investigating the shooting. The motive is unknown at this time.
“The homicide victim was identified as 26-year-old Cecilio Hernandez Ramirez, Jr., a Pasadena resident.” reported Pasadena PD.
