Man Struck in Head, Shot in Harvard Heights

HARVARD HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 26 (KNN) — A man was physically assaulted and then shot late Wednesday night in the Harvard Heights neighborhood within Central Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Police Department Olympic Division units responded to a call from a man stating he had been shot in the area of Country Club Drive and South Manhattan Place.

Officers located the gunshot victim – a 34-year-old man – at the scene, who was subsequently transported by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital.

According to Officer Madison, a spokesperson for the LAPD, the 25-year-old male suspect struck the victim in the head with a blunt object. The victim ran from the suspect, who then produced a handgun and fired a shot at the victim.

The suspect then fled the scene.

Madison told Key News Network that the victim is in stable condition and the incident is not gang-related.

There was no information from the LAPD regarding the vehicle seen in the KNN video from the location.
