DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Mar. 2 (KNN) — Late Friday night at Broadway and 14th Street, the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of a shooting.

Officers arrived on the scene to find a male victim who had been shot in the arm, according to information at the scene. LAFD paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.
Initial information also indicated that an unidentified suspect took an unknown amount of jewelry. However, the LAPD has not confirmed that information.
Officer Chavez, an LAPD spokesperson, told Key News Network that the 43-year-old Hispanic male victim was struck while hearing gunshots.
It is unknown if the shooting was gang-related.
