SOUTH LOS ANGELES, May 13 (KNN) — A man and woman were fatally struck by gunfire, and another man was critically injured, in a shooting in the Central-Alameda neighborhood of South Los Angeles Saturday evening.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Division patrol units responded to reports of a shooting involving three victims around 7:24 p.m. on Washington Boulevard, just east of Alameda Street.
A group of four male Hispanic suspects approached the victims and fired multiple rounds, striking all three victims, according to Officer Madison with the LAPD’s Media Relations Division.
The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle prior to the arrival of the LAPD.
A Hispanic woman, 25-30 years old, was pronounced deceased at the scene, said Madison. Two Hispanic men – a 33-year-old and one in his mid to late 20s – were both transported to a local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
The younger man was pronounced deceased by the medical staff at the hospital. The 33-year-old was listed in critical condition at the time of transport, according to Madison. There is no update on his condition at this time.
The homicide investigation is ongoing.
