Torrance, Los Angeles County, CA: Ambulances were either trapped or could barely squeeze into the ambulance bay at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center after high winds toppled a 50-foot pine tree across the roadway early Wednesday morning, Feb. 22, in the city of Torrance.
Torrance Fire Department officials responded to the hospital in regards to the obstruction shortly after midnight.
At least two different engine companies utilized chainsaws to help clear the tree from the ambulance bay.
Public works officials quickly arrived and took over the cleanup, allowing firefighters to respond to various other wind related emergencies across the city.
