SIMI VALLEY, Calif., Sept. 29 (KNN) — A domestic violence incident at a residence in Simi Valley Friday evening resulted in the stabbing death of a mother, according to authorities.
Simi Valley police officers responded to domestic violence in progress shortly after 6 p.m. at a residence in the 800 block of California Avenue. Authorities received a call from a person who stated that her mother was being stabbed by her boyfriend, whom she resides with, according to the Simi Valley Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, identified by authorities as 34-year-old Jessica Tinoco, suffering from multiple stab wounds to the face, chest and abdomen. She was transported to Los Robles Hospital, where she died from her injuries.
The suspect, 34-year-old Raymond Rivas, was quickly apprehended without incident by responding officers.
According to the SVPD, Rivas was arrested and booked into Ventura County Main Jail on charges of murder. He was also placed on hold for violating probation, as he was on Post Release Community Supervision at the time of the incident.
