Motorcyclist Struck by Pursuit Suspect in South Park

SOUTH PARK, LOS ANGELES, Dec. 9 (KNN) — A man suspected of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer was arrested early Monday after leading Los Angeles Police Department officers on a brief pursuit that ended in a collision with a motorcyclist.

The LAPD Newton Division initiated the chase around 1:45 a.m., targeting a black sedan. During the short pursuit, the suspect struck a motorcyclist at the intersection of San Pedro and Slauson Avenues.

The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Officers took the suspect into custody at the scene.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
