FLORENCE-FIRESTONE, Calif., Jan. 31 (KNN) — A multi-vehicle traffic collision shortly before 8:30 p.m. Thursday included a Los Angeles Police Department patrol vehicle and left one person and two police officers injured.
LAPD Newton Division officers requested help after a traffic collision involving their patrol vehicle in the 1000 block of East Florence Avenue in the Florence-Firestone area of Los Angeles County. They asked for several ambulances for civilians and a police officer.
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told KNN that four cars, including an LAPD vehicle, were involved in the crash. Two Los Angeles Fire Department ambulances transported three patients to a local hospital – two officers and one civilian. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The spokesperson also said the crash did not involve a pursuit, a crime, or fatalities.
The intersection around Central and Florence was closed while officers investigated the scene of the crash.
According to the LAPD, the California Highway Patrol took the report and is investigating the incident. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
