Sylmar, Los Angeles, CA: California Highway Patrol, AMR ambulance and the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving five to six vehicles blocking the 5 Freeway HOV and number one lane early Saturday morning, Dec.31., just after 6:00 a.m.
The collision was reported on the southbound 5 Freeway at the Balboa overpass with some vehicles blacked out (no lights) and one on its side.
CHP issued a SigAlert for all lanes for about an hour.
Per CHP information at the scene, one victim was complaining of having a broken leg and was transported by AMR ambulance to the hospital.
CHP also found one additional vehicle up ahead on the freeway at the 5 and 210 Freeway interchange.
At 7:40 a.m., all vehicles were towed and the SigAlert was cancelled per CHP.
