Multiple People Shot at Bar in Boyle Heights

Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, CA: A shooting took place at a bar reportedly injuring at least six people early Sunday morning, Aug. 28, in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Police Department officers from Hollenbeck Division are investigating the shooting that occurred at Holiday Bar located in the 2400 block of Whittier Boulevard. Two female witnesses declined an on-camera interview, but one said she felt bullets flying in between her legs and saw everyone running for cover.

The other female witness who is a nurse, said she heard about 10 shots fired, saw a male between 23-25 years old get shot in the stomach, one female shot in the face (around her mouth) and another female who was shot in the leg.

The nurse rendered aid to the male shot in the stomach until Los Angeles Police officers cleared the area and ambulances transported them to the hospital. She mentioned the shooter was arguing prior to the shooting and was a male Hispanic wearing a blue shirt with unknown color pants. He fled the scene after the shooting.

LAPD had the intersections blocked off until they finished their investigation.
