Multiple Units Destroyed in South Gate Apartment Building Fire

SOUTH GATE, CA, July 10 (KNN) — Multiple units were destroyed in an apartment building fire late Monday night in South Gate.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department and South Gate Police Department received a call shortly after 10:30 p.m. for a burning building with heavy smoke and fire showing on the 8000 block of Golden Avenue.

Firefighters arriving on scene reported a two-story apartment building with fire showing from both floors.

The fire department reported the blaze started from the downstairs parking garage with loud bang sounds being heard from the garage area.

No injuries were reported, however, multiple units were destroyed in the blaze. There was no immediate information regarding the residents of the units.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. There are no further details.
