Occupants Evacuate Burning Apartment Building, 3 Pets Survive

Exposition Park, Los Angeles, CA: Three pets were located alive after occupants evacuated an apartment building fire Sunday morning, Feb. 27, at approximately 1:00 a.m. on the 3600 block of South Normandie Avenue in the Exposition Park neighborhood in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the location and found a two-story apartment building with heavy fire present on the first floor. Occupants were able to evacuate the building, rescuing multiple small dogs and children in the process.

LAFD searched the building and was able to locate a rabbit and two cats that survived the fire. Firefighters achieved knockdown in approximately fifteen minutes.
