Pedestrian Killed in Historic South-Central L.A. Hit-and-Run Collision

HISTORIC SOUTH-CENTRAL LOS ANGELES, Oct. 9 (KNN) — A pedestrian was found fatally injured after a hit-and-run collision Sunday night.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Division patrol units and the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision on Main Street, just south of Vernon Avenue, in Historic South-Central Los Angeles.

When first-responders arrived at the scene, they located the victim down in lanes unresponsive.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by the LAFD.

The suspect vehicle is described as a red Toyota Corolla.

It is unclear if the suspect fled the scene on foot or in the vehicle as there was one matching the description still at the scene.

The LAPD’s Central Traffic Division is investigating the incident.
