Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Freeway Traffic Collision

City Terrace, East Los Angeles, CA: A pedestrian was fatally stuck by a vehicle on the eastbound 10 Freeway Sunday night.

California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision just after 10:00 p.m., May 14, involving a pedestrian on the eastbound 10 Freeway at North Eastern Avenue in the City Terrace area of East Los Angeles.

Once on scene, CHP officers and firefighters located one person down on the right shoulder and not breathing. Firefighters and paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

The type of vehicle that fatally struck the pedestrian and fled the scene is unknown at this time.

CHP had all eastbound lanes of the 10 Freeway closed for an unknown duration at the 710 Freeway. All eastbound 10 Freeway traffic was diverted off to the 710 Freeway transition.
