Pedestrian Killed in Hollywood Hit-and-Run Traffic Collision; Police Search For Blue Corvette

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 24 (KNN) — A pedestrian was struck and fatally injured by a vehicle that fled the scene in Hollywood overnight.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Division officers responded to reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of North La Brea Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a victim down in the street.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Witnesses reported seeing a Corvette striking the pedestrian before fleeing the scene.

The LAPD stated in a news release that a 2022-2023 blue Chevrolet Corvette was possibly racing a white sedan when it collided with a male pedestrian at the intersection of La Brea and Sunset Boulevard.

Speed was possibly a factor in the collision. It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor. The investigation is ongoing, according to the LAPD.
