Callers reported a sedan stalled in the middle of southbound lanes on the I-5 Freeway at Beach Boulevard around 10:51 p.m., Mar. 27, in the city of Buena Park.

Additional reports came around 10:57 p.m. advising that vehicles were crashing into the stalled sedan.

It is believed that at least one of the vehicle’s occupants stepped out of their vehicle when they were struck by additional vehicles.

California Highway Patrol Westminster officers arrived on scene and immediately determined the mortally injured pedestrian to be deceased.

Key News Network video from the overpass shows all lanes blocked, with traffic at a standstill.

All lanes of the southbound I-5 Freeway were shut down at Beach Boulevard for an unknown amount of time.

A press release Tuesday, Mar. 28, from the CHP Westminster office stated that a 33-year-old San Diego resident was involved in a crash on southbound I-5, south of Beach Boulevard, involving the vehicle he was a passenger in and one other vehicle.
