NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES, Jan. 24 (KNN) — Authorities are searching for a driver(s) involved in a hit-and-run traffic collision that left a female pedestrian dead in North Hollywood Friday night.
Los Angeles police officers and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to a reported vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision on the 11700 block of West Victory Boulevard shortly after 9:30 p.m.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced the pedestrian deceased.
LAPD North Hollywood officers requested Valley Traffic units to respond to the scene of the fatal collision. The incident was determined to be a hit-and-run.
In an LAPD news release Saturday regarding the incident, the pedestrian has been only identified as a 26-year-old Hispanic female. Her name is being withheld at this time until next of kin is notified of her death.
It was determined by authorities during the investigation that she was struck twice by two different vehicles, the second proving to be fatal.
According to the LAPD’s Valley Traffic detectives, the female pedestrian was walking across the road on Victory Boulevard, just east of Troost Avenue, when she was struck by a sedan traveling westbound on Victory. The collision caused her to fall onto the roadway, and when she was on her hands and knees, she was struck and killed by another vehicle. The second vehicle is described as a light blue or gray Toyota 4Runner.
Valley Traffic Division detectives are urging the public to come forward with information regarding this fatal hit-and-run. There was a lot of traffic in the area of Victory Boulevard and Troost Avenue at the time of the collision.
