Pedestrian Killed in South Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Traffic Collision

VERMONT KNOLLS, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 30 (KNN) — A pedestrian was killed in a traffic collision involving a vehicle that fled the scene overnight.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Division units responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision around 12:09 a.m. Saturday on South Normandie Avenue at West 83rd Place in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood of Los Angeles within the South Los Angeles region.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a person down in lanes of traffic. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel.

The vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene.

LAPD South Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
