Pedestrian Killed in Sun Valley Hit-and-Run Collision

SUN VALLEY, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 1 (KNN) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle that fled the scene early Friday morning on a street in Sun Valley.

The Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to reports of a traffic collision shortly before 2 a.m. involving a pedestrian in the 7900 block of Lankershim Boulevard.

When first responders arrived, they found one person unconscious, not breathing and beyond medical help, who had been struck by a vehicle. The victim was found in the crosswalk area of the street.

The suspect vehicle was not found and fled the scene.

LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division is investigating the incident.
