AZUSA, Calif., Jan. 20 (KNN) — A driver failed to stop after striking a pedestrian who was subsequently found dead by first responders in an Azusa street Friday night.
Officers with the Azusa Police Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to a traffic collision around 9:49 p.m. involving a pedestrian at South Irwindale Avenue and West Paramount Street.
By the time first responders arrived at the location, the pedestrian had succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased. The driver who struck the pedestrian had fled the scene.
Azusa PD had both north and southbound lanes closed as they investigated the fatal hit-and-run collision. Irwindale PD was on scene and assisting Azusa PD with traffic.
