Pets Rescued During Animal Hotel Fire in Santa Clarita

NEWHALL, SANTA CLARITA, CA, June 28 (KNN) — Sheriff’s deputies and staff of the Evergreen Pet Hotel in Santa Clarita’s Newhall area worked to rescue animals sheltered in the location as a fire burned inside the building.

Los Angeles County firefighters from Station 73 were responding to a fire alarm at the location and were first on scene. Engine Company 73 reported fire and smoke inside the location.

Crews from across Battalions 6 and 22 worked together to douse the fire as animals big and small were evacuated to the location’s hospital.

The fire, which was extinguished within 10 minutes, remains under investigation.
