Pickup Truck Driver Killed in Lancaster Traffic Collision Involving Semi Truck

LANCASTER, Calif., Jan. 26 (KNN) — A pickup truck driver was killed in a traffic collision involving a Walmart semi truck in Lancaster Friday evening.

Lancaster deputies responded to the corner of Sierra Highway and Ave G around 8:14 p.m. for reports of a traffic collision.

Upon arrival, they discovered a truck with a trapped occupant had collided with a Walmart semi truck. California Highway Patrol officers also responded and took over the scene shortly thereafter.

First responders freed the trapped driver of the pickup truck who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other driver was seen sitting in the semi truck, however, it is unknown at this time if they suffered any injuries.

The cause of the collision is under investigation and no further details are available at this time.
