Pickup Truck Allegedly Hits LAPD SWAT Vehicle, Attempts to Flee Scene

North Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA: A Los Angeles Police Department SWAT unit was involved in an attempted hit-and-run traffic collision on the 170 Freeway Saturday, Dec. 3, just before 8 p.m. in the North Hollywood area of Los Angeles.

A white pickup truck allegedly collided with a SWAT vehicle and tried to leave the scene. SWAT units used Bearcat armored vehicles to block the truck in order to avert a possible pursuit.

The suspect, who appeared to be possibly under the influence, surrendered after the vehicle was blocked.

The northbound 170 Freeway was shut down at Sherman Way causing traffic back up.
