North Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA: A male victim was found fatally shot just before midnight Friday in the North Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles within the San Fernando Valley.

The Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to reports of a victim down from a shooting around 11:50 p.m., Dec. 16, on the 6800 block of Simpson Avenue.

Firefighters found one male unconscious, not breathing and beyond medical help at the location. The male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by the fire department.

LAPD received reports that the male was a victim of a drive-by shooting.

The suspect vehicle was a possible white 2022 Mercedes SUV that was last seen westbound on Vanowen Street toward Laurel Canyon Boulevard.

LAPD is investigating the shooting.
