Pursuit Ends in Major Traffic Collision; A Vehicle Split in Half, Multiple Victims Injured

Pomona, Los Angeles County, CA: The Montclair Police Department was in pursuit in the city of Pomona of a vehicle that was traveling westbound at East Holt Avenue at North Towne Avenue when the suspect’s vehicle crashed with two other vehicles at the intersection of East Holt and North Towne just before 1:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14.

One vehicle, a Honda Accord, was violently cut in half and two other vehicles sustained major damage. Debris from the multi-vehicle crash was observed scattered over a large area of the roadway.

A total of five people were transported, including the suspect, to a local hospital.

Per Los Angeles County Fire Department information from the scene, three were transported in critical condition and two transported with minor injuries.

Witnesses at the intersection said the suspect vehicle was a Honda Accord and claim it was traveling at 100 mph when it crashed into two other vehicles at the intersection.

It is unknown at this time if the Pomona Police Department was assisting Montclair PD in the pursuit. The reason for the pursuit is currently unknown.

Pomona PD had all intersections closed in the area as they investigated the major traffic collision.
