Pursuit Suspect Crashes into 2 Encino Homes

Encino, Los Angeles, CA: A California Highway Patrol overnight pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into two homes on a street in the Encino neighborhood within the San Fernando Valley.

CHP West Valley officers began a pursuit of a dark colored Ford SUV Friday morning, Feb. 10, at approximately 2:08 a.m.

Officers continued to follow the suspect vehicle onto surface streets when the suspect lost control and crashed through the corner of a home and up against the side of a second home on the 17700 block of Burbank Boulevard.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported the suspect to a local area hospital in stable condition.

Firefighters also evaluated the structural integrity of the two damaged homes. The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety will need to respond for further assessment.

A witness to the accident was interviewed and evaluated by CHP for possibly being under the influence of alcohol, but was subsequently released after passing a field sobriety test.
