San Bernardino California Highway Patrol was in pursuit of a high-speed Infiniti on the southbound 215 Freeway at University Parkway in the city of San Bernardino overnight. The suspect was traveling at a high speed of 130 mph on the freeways.

The suspect exited the freeway and drove around the city of Fontana at high speeds of 100 mph, then circled the Fontana area for about 30 to 45 minutes before getting onto the westbound 10 Freeway.

The Infiniti continued into the Los Angeles County area westbound on the 10 Freeway with speeds reaching 130 mph, then entered the city of West Covina on the westbound 10 Freeway, exited the freeway and got back on eastbound on the 10 Freeway toward the Pomona area.

The vehicle then entered the northbound 57 Freeway from the 10 Freeway where the suspect crashed into a FedEx semi traveling northbound on the 57 Freeway at Covina Boulevard.

The suspect was taken into custody following the collision and assessed by paramedics.

The suspect’s vehicle had crashed into the semi’s gas tank, dumping approximately 150 gallons of fuel onto the freeway.

CHP officers immediately started building a barrier to stop the fuel from dumping into the sewer.

CHP issued a Sig Alert for the number 3 and 4 lanes for the northbound 57 Freeway at Covina Boulevard for unknown period of time.
