Recreation and Parks Building Burns in Montecito Heights

Montecito Heights, Los Angeles, CA: A parks and recreation building burned early Thursday morning on the 5600 block of Via Marisol in the neighborhood of Montecito Heights.

The Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to the reported fire around 2:38 a.m., May 11, and arrived to find a vacant 100′ x 100′ building fully engulfed in flames inside Hermon Park, according LAFD.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze around 3:22 a.m. without any injuries to firefighters, said LAFD.

LAFD is investigating the cause of the fire.
