According to decades-long neighbors, the elderly homeowner was hospitalized the day before the fire broke out, and she died shortly after learning her home had burned down. The neighbors said family members plan to travel to the house to retrieve precious war medals and rings.

The Topos crew, often deployed to disaster zones across the globe, has focused on aiding in the search within the Palisades and Eaton fire burn areas.

A Key News Network photographer captured the team on video sifting through rubble at the home in the 14900 block of West Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades late Sunday afternoon.
