Riverside, CA: An apartment building fire in the city of Riverside on Monday, Aug. 29, around 6:43 p.m., prompted evacuation of residents and a response from the Riverside Fire Department.

The first arriving engine reported heavy smoke coming from a two-story multi-family dwelling. Residents quickly evacuated the apartment building, and fleeing residents also notified neighbors who were unaware of the fire.
Firefighters made a quick attack and contained the fire to the attic portion and the top story of the apartment complex. At least two apartments were affected by the fire. It is unknown if those residents are going to be allowed back into their apartments and temporarily have to relocate their residence.
No injuries were reported to firefighters or residents. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and under investigation.
