San Bernardino Motel Fire Spreads to Vegetation

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., Dec. 10 (KNN) — Fire crews responded late Monday night to a blaze at a single-story motel on the 2100 block of Herrington Avenue in San Bernardino, where flames spread to nearby vegetation, fueled by high winds.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the motel engulfed in flames, with fire already breaching the roof. The blaze also consumed multiple palm trees and approximately a quarter-acre of vegetation. Strong winds in the area carried embers, igniting additional fires and prompting concerns about further spread.

A full commercial structure fire response was initiated as crews worked to knock down the fire inside the motel. Efforts then shifted to containing the vegetation fire on the south side of West Highland Avenue.

The San Bernardino Fire Department’s significant efforts brought the fire under control. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
