Security Guard Shot, Killed During Attempted Robbery at East Los Angeles Marijuana Dispensary

EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif., Sept. 30 (KNN) — A security guard at an East Los Angeles marijuana dispensary was fatally shot during a robbery attempt on the business early Monday morning.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies from the East Los Angeles station responded to a gunshot victim shortly before 2 a.m. in the 6100 block of Whittier Boulevard.

Once deputies and firefighters arrived at the scene, they located a security guard suffering from a gunshot wound. Firefighters and paramedics pronounced the person dead at the scene. The LASD set up a crime scene and is treating this as a homicide investigation.

It is unknown at this time how many suspects were involved in the robbery attempt of the marijuana dispensary that resulted in the shooting death of the security guard.
