SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7 (KNN) — A Mercedes sedan slammed into a hydrant and building late Tuesday night in the West Adams neighborhood of South Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched around 11:30 p.m. to the 5200 block of West Jefferson Boulevard for reports of a vehicle versus fire hydrant traffic collision.
When crews arrived on scene, they located a single vehicle that had sheared a hydrant and struck a building.
The occupants in the vehicle were evaluated for injuries by LAFD personnel and released at the scene.
The water from the gushing, broken hydrant was shut off in approximately 15 minutes.
LAPD’s South Traffic Division is handling the investigation into the cause of the crash.
