ENCINO, LOS ANGELES, July 13 (KNN) — Crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department managed to contain a large brush fire in the Sepulveda Basin late Friday night.
The LAFD responded to a reported vegetation fire around 11:16 p.m. in the Sepulveda Basin near Woodley Avenue, south of Burbank Boulevard, in Encino.
Firefighters initially encountered two separate fires that eventually merged into one. Previous dozer lines, aimed at preventing future fires from spreading, aided in containing the blaze.
Approximately two acres were burned. LAFD crews remained at the location and engaged in mop-up operations to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
