COMPTON, Calif., Aug. 27 (KNN) — Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the 1000 block of West 152nd Street in Compton, attempting to locate two outstanding burglary suspects, with at least two already in custody.
The suspects were wanted in relation to a home invasion robbery that occurred at 9:10 p.m. in the 15000 block of Greenleaf Street in Sherman Oaks earlier Monday evening.
Responding LAPD officers with the Van Nuys Division were informed by the female occupant that three to four male suspects wearing ski masks entered the home and forced her into a bedroom while they ransacked the house, according to Officer Cervantes, spokesperson for the LAPD.
The suspects fled the location with the victim’s property. At this time, it is unclear what items were stolen from the residence.
Cervantes told Key News Network that officers working surveillance in the area followed the suspect’s vehicle, a black Honda Civic, to a house in the city of Compton.
LAPD airship support followed the suspects to 152nd Street, where at least two suspects were taken into custody.
Ultimately, a total of three suspects were taken into custody, which also involved a short foot pursuit.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for the location and are in the process of collecting evidence. This is an ongoing investigation. Detectives are looking into a connection that these suspects may have to any other home invasion robberies.
According to an update by the LAPD on X Wednesday, all three suspects were on supervised release during the commission of the most recent crimes. All three remain in custody.
