The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. at a house on the 1000 block of Sanford Avenue, east of Opp Street.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor area patrol officers responded to the location for an “assault with a deadly weapon/shots fired” radio call. Arriving officers located three victims, all suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the LAPD’s news release regarding the incident.

All three patients were transported to a local hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department, where one of the victims, a 53-year-old male, succumbed to his injuries, reported the LAPD.

The LAPD said the victims were outside socializing when a suspect walked up and opened fire, striking all three victims. The suspect, only described as a male Hispanic, fled from the scene on foot. There is no known motive for the shooting.
