Shooting in South Los Angeles Leaves Man Wounded

HISTORIC SOUTH CENTRAL LOS ANGELES, Sept. 6 (KNN) — A gunshot victim was hospitalized after a shooting in Historic South Central Los Angeles overnight.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Division officers responded to the 500 block of East Vernon Avenue for a shooting victim around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Arriving officers located a male down in an alleyway with an unknown number of gunshot wounds.

The wounded male was transported in unknown condition to a local hospital by firefighter/paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Witnesses reported hearing shots fired and seeing a vehicle speeding away from the scene.
