Shooting Involving Family Members in Val Verde Leaves 2 Dead, 1 Transported to Hospital

VAL VERDE, Calif., Sept. 23 (KNN) — Two people were killed in a shooting at a home in the 28800 block of Paradise Road in Val Verde Sunday evening. One person was transported to an area hospital via ambulance, according to Supervising Fire Dispatcher Michael Pittman with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The incident was first reported to 911 operators at 6:39 p.m. as a shooting between a father and his son, with both subjects suffering from gunshot wounds.

Deputies arrived on the scene a few moments later with paramedics from Fire Station 149. The two male adults were pronounced dead at the scene, and a female adult was rushed to a trauma center shortly after.

According to the sheriff’s department, this incident appears to be domestic, and the suspect and victims were related.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators responded to the scene and determined that this incident was an apparent murder/suicide in the Val Verde area of Castaic. The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation.

No suspects are outstanding, and the weapon believed to be used was recovered at the scene, according to the LASD.
