Shooting Leaves 1 Dead on Sidewalk in South Los Angeles

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Aug. 29 (KNN) — A victim was fatally shot Tuesday night in the South Park neighborhood within South Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Division units responded to reports of a shooting around 10:00 p.m. with a victim down in the 5300 block of South Broadway.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a male down on the sidewalk not conscious and not breathing.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A possible suspect was taken into custody.

There are no further details at this time.
