Sun Valley, Los Angeles, CA: A shooting is under investigation involving a victim who was fatally shot outside a department store Monday night in the Sun Valley neighborhood of Los Angeles within the San Fernando Valley.
Los Angeles Police Department Foothill Division officers responded to reports of a shooting outside a Kohl’s department store near Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Roscoe around 9:50 p.m. Dec. 19.
Reports indicate the victim was shot at the location and his girlfriend transported him to Pacifica Hospital of the Valley. The victim’s vehicle was found at the hospital ER entrance.
The victim was reportedly shot in the chest and was in critical condition. LAPD confirmed on Tuesday the victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
According to LAPD, the suspect fled the location in an unknown direction in a dark colored vehicle. The suspect was described as a male Hispanic, 5’10”- 6′ tall, approximately 250 pounds and wore a light blue medical mask.
No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
