Pomona, Los Angeles County, CA: Sometime after 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, Pomona Police Department responded to a smash and grab robbery with shots fired inside the Pomona Indoor Swap Meet on the 1600 block of East Holt Avenue and Indian Hill Boulevard in the city of Pomona.
Once officers arrived on scene, they located a jewelry store inside the indoor swap meet with shattered glass and people running out the doors.
Witnesses told officers unknown males took an unknown amount of jewelry and fired shots inside the store then fled the scene.
Yazan, a vendor inside the swap meet, told Key News Network on camera that he heard a confrontation and displays being broken about two aisles behind his store. He then heard possibly the owner of the store yell “security, security!”
Seconds later, Yazan said he heard “two pops … someone shooting a gun two times.” He said everybody was scattering all over the store, some were ducking and hiding.
Yazan stated he saw all the displays broken in the jewelry store. Broken glass was on the ground.
It is unknown at this time if anybody was hurt or transported to a hospital.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene.
