LONG BEACH, Calif., Jan. 30 (KNN) — Two people were trapped and then extricated from a crashed vehicle that left one of them dead and the other injured in Long Beach early Thursday morning.
California Highway Patrol South Los Angeles Area officers and Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to a solo vehicle crash shortly before 3 a.m. on the northbound 710 and Del Amo Boulevard.
It was reported that the vehicle left the roadway and went down an embankment.
Officers arrived to find an Acura sedan that had left the main lanes and drove up a dirt shoulder into a chainlink fence.
Two people found trapped inside the car were extricated by firefighters. One patient was transported to Long Beach Memorial in unknown condition, and the second patient was declared deceased at the scene.
The CHP closed the number 4 lane while officers investigated the incident.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
